Wilkommen, bienvenue, welcome to Moulin des Folies. The opening song of the concert show Moulin des Folies, written by Cynthia Knoch and Willem Claesen, is reminiscent of the burlesque sounds of the famous Moulin Rouge in Paris, while other songs evoke the atmosphere of the romantic corner of Mont Martre. Nostalgic songs such as La vie en Rose coexist with Port Amsterdam by Jques Brel or La seine by Vanessa Paradis, as well as songs written by Cynthia Knoch.
Inspired by Parisian nightlife from the late 1800s to the present day, she sat in the middle of nowhere near Montmartre and wrote the lyrics to a song she called „Bisous de Paris“, as well as her chanson „Enfin“ and „Tu m’emmerdes“
Cynthia also began to revisit songs and poems she knew and loved and put them in a new context. Moulin des folies in the middle of Paris at night was born.
A crazy melange à la française was the result of the quintet who had already filled theatres with their previous shows KNEF DIETRICH and BERLINER LUFT. With a fresh, bold sound and a personal, modern twist.
